[Masanhappo‐gu | Tasty Restaurant] Odongdong Aguhalmaejip

The food that rings a bell when thinking of ‘Masan!’ It is geon‐agujjim (steamed dried anglerfish). Masan is famous for steamed anglerfish, so that it even has a steamed anglerfish street, and among the restaurants, I will introduce Odongdong Aguhalmaejip, which is well known as a tasty restaurant even between the locals!
 
 
01 | Visitor’s Report
 
 
This is Odongdong Aguhalmaejip. It was designated as Masan’s local food restaurant in 1982, and is a tasty restaurant that appeared in TV programs, such as Live Today and Good Morning Korea! It is a time‐honored restaurant that has been continued for three generations.
 

You can also see the annex building across the main building of Odongdong Aguhalmaehip! The exteriors of both the main building and the annex were clean.
 
 
Parking is convenient because there is a parking lot only for the restaurant when turning around the corner from the annex.
 
This is the inside of the annex! There is a wide hall and the seats are all available on the floor. There were many customers not only at the main building, but at the annex~
 
Shall we take a look at the menu board~? Steamed dried anglerfish is famous in Changwon! This food has national fame as a local food including spicy red pepper powder and all sorts of seasonings after putting in dried anglerfish, bean sprouts, water parsley, and warty sea squirt.
 
New menus were available as well, as one would expect at a tasty restaurant. I was only able to think of steamed anglerfish when thinking of food using anglerfish, however, there were many more, such as stir‐fried anglerfish with seafood and grilled anglerfish!
 
As expected, there were various dishes using anglerfish. Among such, boiled anglerfish was especially noticeable :‐)
For your information, the origin of all ingredients of boiled anglerfish, anglerfish soup, and grilled anglerfish are all Korea. This fact makes this restaurant seem more reliable~
 
There is Anglerfish Fillet Exhibition Center on the left side of the annex. You can taste sample anglerfish fillets after filling your belly with a meal! *^^*
 
Anglerfish fillet is a roasted anglerfish cutlet fillet made by drying after seasoning small domestic anglerfish after removing its internal organs and peels.

You may taste sample food at the Exhibition Center, so feel free to visit! For your information, this food is tasty and can be eaten smoothly.
 
02 | Tasting
 
Kimchi, raw seaweed, and water kimchi are served as side dishes. It is said that steamed anglerfish restaurants at Changwon do not serve many side dishes. ㅠㅠ
 
This is Boiled Anglerfish. I was unfamiliar with this food at first~ Unlike the anglerfish we eat at ordinary times, the anglerfish flesh was very tight and chewy! I wished for more flesh, however, I was satisfied because of the clean taste and also because there was no fishy smell~ I could feel the specialness of the fresh taste of anglerfish itself that cannot be tasted at other places.
 
This is Anglerfish Bulgogi. The spicy seasoning, various vegetables, and anglerfish are well mixed. I was able to eat comfortably because a waitress cooked for us! :‐)
 
If we look into the effectiveness of anglerfish for a moment, it is good for supplementing essential amino acids because it has rich protein and is good for diets as it is a low‐fat fish. Its peels contain collagen ingredients, showing outstanding effectiveness in skin health!
 
Fi!Nal!Ly! The most waited steamed anglerfish. The father of steamed anglerfish is steamed dried anglerfish, and the anglerfish we mostly taste these days is steamed raw anglerfish. Compared to steamed raw anglerfish, steamed dried anglerfish has slightly more fishy smell and taste. For those who are sensitive to such smell or taste, I recommend the steamed raw anglerfish ~
 
The anglerfish was fresh and flesh was plump as boiled anglerfish. I could lively feel each taste of the ingredients including water parsley, bean sprouts, and anglerfish, and the food provided a somewhat different taste because it was different from the steamed anglerfish I ate before~ I recommend this food to those visiting Changwon!
